A downloadable civlization

Epicedium is a solo journaling game about shaping your own history—for better or for worse. In this game, you play as the last survivor of a lost civilization, woken thousands of years in the future. To the people of the modern day, you’re an incredible resource of information! You can tell them all about your home and your people, completely re-contextualizing everything that they understand about the past.

But at the same time, you are trying to understand how your civilization fell in the first place, creating an exchange of information that can be false or incomplete on both sides—that’s history, folks!

You are the last. This is vital to emphasize. You have been burdened with a great responsibility, and this may be an honor or a frustration, but it is not something that you can cast aside.

You’ve been handed the pen. Time to rewrite history.

Enjoying Epicedium is simple! You will only need the following materials:

  • A six-sided die (1d6)
  • A place to journal or record your thoughts
